IMAGINE
I have imagined moments like these! I’ve dreamt about television interviews, radio, and print opportunities to talk about my book…AND IT HAPPENED! I talked to strangers about one of the biggest projects of my life as a guest on a podcast recorded last Wednesday. What an experience!
My second official interview is done and dusted.
That was little ole me, talking, talking, talking…as part of my new career. To Coach Wilson from THS who begged me to talk less in class, I finally found a place where I’m supposed to talk! Ha ha.
I got to spend time with two incredibly kind souls, Jared Moses and Ceylan Gunduz, but I also received notes from their colleague Charles Rodriguez. What a gift. Their feedback was on point, delivered with positive feels, and extremely professional.
BELIEVE
Things happen for a reason. Yes, I know that’s the cliche' of the century, but for me, it’s usually true. I always look back and realize, oh, that’s why it went down like that. Got it. I don’t know why this book has taken me so long. I do know that my journey is different than many of my author friends. I give myself credit for not giving up. I am still here, I am still writing, and I believe in this story with all that I am. Ceylan and Jared held my dream and my sample chapter with care, compassion, and support. They pointed out the gold, the gaps, and the parts that made them pause. I am truly grateful.
DISCOVER
Was I nervous? Yes. I was nervous, but I was mostly excited. The butterflies didn’t last long. I was delighted to dig deep into the work and explore the hum underneath the story. The conversation that got recorded was awesome, and the questions that they sent ahead of time helped me tremendously.
Thanks again to everyone who read the five posts this past week. I promise I won’t send an email every day like that unless…I get an agent, a book deal, land my first TED talk, or I’m in Reese’s book club…you know, something big!
To my writer friends, the team at One Brilliant Arc (OBA) was top notch. I received excellent feedback in a kind, loving manner. It was a great experience.
To all the subscribers who read these posts, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU!
You keep me going.
xoxo
